They say it takes a village to raise a child. It takes an army of big-hearted legendary youths to put a smile on the dial of those in need of cheering up.

Who is the one putting a smile on young Australians?

The Young Allies Foundation is a youth-led organisation that puts on events and programs that support paediatric patients and their families across Australia’s hospitals.

They work every day to help build a bridge between the local community and their hospitals. The Young Allies Foundation achieve this by championing a peer-to-peer dynamic across each of their projects, where young people in the community work to support their peers receiving ongoing medical care.

This September, they celebrate their first anniversary in Australia!

So far, they’ve been able to deliver thousands of sweet treats, self-care items, everyday essentials and some much-needed community love at a COVID-safe distance to patients across South-East Queensland.

This year they’re expanding their efforts and working with Sanctum to support patients and families in lockdown-stricken Victoria with their upcoming Care Hamper program. They’ll be distributing thousands of products to brighten the days of Victoria’s paediatric patients that are largely cut off from their local community during the state’s ongoing lockdowns.

The Young Allies Foundation love partnering with kind-hearted businesses and volunteers to help raise awareness and deliver much-need support to those in our community. If you’d like to learn more about their work or donate to support their projects, you can find more here.
